Heat-Free Summer Challenge!

OK guys, remember when I briefly told you about my plans to wear my hair curly all summer long. Remember? Great. No, great that you remember not great for my patience or frustration level. I'm not going to put heat on my hair until either the first official day of fall, sometime in September even though it'll still me hotter than fish grease out, or the beginning of September when I just can't take it anymore! It'll probably be the second one. L0l. This means no blow drying, no flatiron, no anything else that has heat. But now is a good time for me to experiment with all my curly hair products. Right now I'm using the Head & Shoulder's Shampoo, Herbal Essence Hydralicious conditioner, a Dr. Miracles Damaged Hair Treatment (not to sure on the exact name) 100% Organic Coconut Oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie. So my actual routine came from the inspiration of the Glamtwinz334 from YouTube. They have hair very similar to mine just longer, and a little thinner. My hair is SO unbelievably thick and annoying, it really makes me want to give up on this whole "Heat Free" thing, or take some scissors to my head and go all Britney Spears, but I wont. So my regimen is at night, and first I shampoo of course, I scrub my scalp really good because I have psoriasis of the scalp and you don't want to leave any dry patches behind. Then sometimes, if I'm not feeling incredibly lazy I'll shampoo again, then i put some warm EVOO (Extra Virgin Olive Oil) all over my scalp and some of that Dr. Miracles treatment, which I don't really need, I just like how it makes my scalp tingle and the peppermint smell. After about 10 minutes I rinse that out, then i take about a half teaspoon of coconut oil and rub that all into my hair, especially the edges and the ends. Then I section my hair off into four section and take a good scoop of the Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie and work that into my hair and running my fingers through it to detangle as much of it as I can and stretching it out, because I don't like when my hair looks short. Then I take smaller sections and take alot, and I mean ALOT of the Herbal Essence conditioner and work it through my hair, roots to ends and some on the edges. Once I'm finished with the conditioner I flip my head over and stretch and scrunch the ends repeatedly. Then I take a scarf and tie it around my head (the edges only) so that my edges will lay flat, then I flip it back over and put a hair tie about in the middle and then put it in a shower cap, then in a bonnet and that's it! I didn't really like the way it turned out the first time, because my hair is in DESPERATE need of a trim, because I trust nobody, so it looked very uneven so I'll have to take my time and work a little slower and stretch it out more. I already have two products that I'm going to try out, but I left them in my locker at work, and I work RIGHT next door to a Walmart. The products I have already purchased is the Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask, which is something the twins recommended and I thought I'd give it a try, and the Twisted Sista 30 Second Curl Spray, just to give my curls a little wake up and defining. The twins used a spray as well, but it was Macadamia I believe. I already have a list of new products that I'm going to buy already. Two of them are from Shea Moisture, their Coconut & Hibiscus Curl and Style Milk, and for my bad dandruff and psoriasis the African Black Soap Deep Cleansing Shampoo. I also want to try some of the Organix products, mainly the things from the Macadamia Oil, Awapuhi Ginger, Moroccan Argan Oil, Coconut Milk, and Tea Tree Mint line. I also want to try, from Cantu their Natural Hair Cream, not to sure of the full proper name. Finally, for now at least I want to try a few things from the line Eden Body Works, this was the hair product line invented by a 15 year old girl I believe, and she was on Oprah because she made her own natural and organic hair care line at such a young age because of her experience with a bad relaxer. I want to try the Peppermint Tea Tree Shampoo, it caught my attention in the store because its clear. Lol. I know, I'm gullible! Also, the Peppermint Tea Tree Hair Oil, it was in a pretty "recycled" aluminum spray bottle! Cuteness. Finally from that line I want to try the Jojoba Monoi Hair Milk. I also want to try all natural Jojoba Oil, they were sold out at the Vitamin Shop I went to, to get the Coconut Oil, so I'll get it next time. Since I have the week off due to lack off hours and budget cuts at my job, my hair has basically been in a curly side bun, up do messy thing lately. We will see how this whole "Heat-Free" thing goes, hopefully I won't cave in, I don't think I will, I have lots of will power *stares at flatiron*! Are you guys gonna be doing any special summer challenges?

That's all I suppose. If you have any hair product suggestions or advice, please leave me some Comments=help me off the ledge, and pry the hot tools from my hands!

Too dramatic? Nahhhh. :)

Peace & Love
